The admissions process to attend SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary is simple. Submit your application along with the required documentation and you can begin your degree program in just weeks. 

SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary has always been committed to providing a powerful, Spirit-filled educational experience.  Our primary aim is to assist students in responding to and being equipped for Jesus’ commission.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Adhere to SUM’s Statement of faith.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or equivalent and remain in good academic standing throughout the program.
  • Provide evidence of good standing from any previous college if transferring to SUM.

Undergraduate Admissions Process

  1. A completed SUM General Application (Undergraduate application) (Solicitud De Estudios Universitarios en Espanol)
  2. Completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) – (Website)
  3. Pastor Reference Form (electronic submission)
  4. General Reference Form (electronic submission)
  5. Official School Records (download)
    1. Freshman – If you have never attended college, submit your Official High School Transcripts or proof of GED
    2. Transfer – If you have attended college, submit both your Official High School Transcript or GED and your previous college’s Official College Transcript from Accredited Institution
  6. Essay – Answer the questions below. The essay should be 1-page typed, 12-point, and double-spaced (email to admissions@sum.edu, please      attach as a separate document and include your name and desired cohort at the top.)
    1. How did you become a Christian?
    2. How are you currently serving in your home church?
    3. Upon graduating from SUM, where do you feel the Lord is leading you?
    1. BA in Worship and Music
      1. a) How did I become a Christian?
      2. b) How am I currently serving in my home church?
      3. c)  What is your current level of music proficiency, your primary instrument, and how do you feel that the BA in Worship and Music program will further equip you for your calling in this area?

  4. Official College Transcripts from CHEA Accredited Institution (download)
  5. Essay – Answer the questions below. The essay should be 2 pages typed, 12-point, and double-spaced (email to admissions@sum.edu, please attach as a separate document and include your name and desired cohort at the top.)

    • How do you believe this degree will help you in your ministry and calling?
