What do I do if my Payment Fails in the International Payment Portal?

SUM provides assistance for international students struggling with the payment portal through email support services.

International students can pay their tuition from their country of residence using the presentation currency of their choice by  using our international payment portal https://international.sum.edu/.

Technical support is provided via email by our International Student Services Team. There are some steps you can take for immediate help in the event of a payment failure. The most common cause of a payment failure is insufficient funds in the account. Please ensure that there are sufficient funds in the account connected to the card you stored for your payment in the portal before contacting our IT team.

Additional problems arise when a student attempts to pay with a card that is not supported by this type of out of country  transaction. Please contact your bank or payment institution to understand supported payment types. The third common category of payment failures is problems due to cached data. Please clear your browser cache before attempting to make the payment.

If none of these steps solve your payment failure, please submit a help ticket and our international support team will contact you.
